How to plan a kitchen remodel
A great kitchen remodel is won or lost in the planning. The build goes smoothly when the decisions are made up front. Here’s the path we walk every client through.
Set your priorities & budget
List what’s not working and what you must have. Decide a realistic budget range before falling in love with finishes.
Plan the layout
Work the “working triangle” — sink, stove, fridge. Decide early if walls move, since that drives cost and permits.
Choose cabinetry
The biggest line item and the longest lead time. Lock this first: stock, semi-custom, or custom.
Select counters, tile & fixtures
Coordinate finishes as a package so everything reads intentional. Order before demo.
Confirm appliances & lighting
Sizes affect cabinetry and electrical. Finalize before framing.
Schedule the build
With materials confirmed, we set a realistic timeline and keep your home livable throughout.
The most common mistake
Starting demo before decisions and materials are locked. It leads to a torn-up kitchen waiting on back-ordered parts. We plan first, build second — so the on-site phase is fast and predictable.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?+
Most full kitchens run 4–8 weeks on site once materials are in hand. Planning and ordering beforehand often takes longer than the build itself.
Should I order materials before demo?+
Yes. We wait until cabinets, counters, and appliances are confirmed (and usually on site) before demo, so your kitchen isn’t torn up waiting on a back-ordered item.
